TrustHandshake was born from a simple frustration: online platforms are full of talented, well-intentioned people — but fake profiles, impersonation, and scams erode the trust that makes communities thrive. We set out to fix that.
Our story
In 2022, our founding team — engineers and trust-and-safety veterans from leading marketplaces — kept running into the same problem: platforms were spending millions building patchwork identity systems that still couldn't reliably distinguish real users from imposters.
The solutions on the market were either too slow (killing conversion rates), too invasive (alienating legitimate users), or too rigid (unable to adapt to new fraud patterns). Platform operators were stuck choosing between user experience and security.
We knew there had to be a better way. So we built TrustHandshake — a verification and trust layer designed from the ground up for platform dynamics. Our approach combines real-time identity checks with continuous behavioral scoring, giving platforms the ability to verify users without creating friction and detect threats before they cause harm.
Today, TrustHandshake protects over 500 platforms and has verified more than 12 million identities. From two-sided marketplaces to community apps to fintech products, teams trust us to be the identity backbone of their platform.
